Obverse: Bust right laureate GEORGE. III. KING. OF. GR. BRITAIN. FRANCE. AND. IRELAND. ETC. Reverse: Two ships at sea RESOLVTION ADVENTURE, Exergue: SAILED. FROM. ENGLAND MARCH. MDCCCLXXII , Fine or better and bold, missing the swivel mount as originally issued. Examples of the medal were distributed to the inhabitants of the Pacific Islands during the second voyage of mariner and explorer Captain James Cook.
