Medal 1882-1889, reverse, (2) the first aded to 1228 Pte.J.Slater 1st Cameron Highlanders, VF. Enlisted Fort George 10/1/1885. Present at the of Ginnis 30/12/1885, Died Cairo 1886, cause not listed, the second awarded to A.Jeffries Ships Corporal 1st Class H.M.S Briton. GVF. Died of Heat apoplexy aboard HMS Humber 1/8/1884, having served from 1870-1884. HMS Briton and her crew participated in the Battle for Suakin Port, February and March 1884.
