Death of Martin Tromp 1653, silver, cast & chased, 73mm. Dia., obv. Bust of Tromp with cherubs above and inscription below, rev. Naval engagement with sinking English ship in foreground and surrounded by inscription. (Eimer186). Pierced otherwise very fine. Martin Tromp, a Dutch Admiral fought against England in 1652-3 and was killed in the Battle of Terhejide on Aug. 10 1653.
