Five Pounds Peppiatt World War II German Operation BernhardForgeryWhite note B241 dated 4th April 1938 serial number B/200 71084. A very fresh and crisp about UNC - UNC example, paper slightly wrinkled however these notes rarely appear in such high grades and this an excellent example perfect for any collector
Five Pounds Peppiatt pre-war SPECIMENWhite Note B241s dated 20th April 1934 serial number 000Q 00000. GEF - About UNC, Minor Foxing Horizontal lines perhaps from storage. Britannia medallion at upper left red SPECIMEN overprint in solid capitals twice diagonally at centre left and across signature at lower right. These notes were produced for the benefit of foreign central banks. They should have been returned and destroyed when no longer needed for reference, but that was not always the case.
