World War II Occupation Savings Bank of The Province of Ljubliana (Laibach) 1000 Lire Pick R9 dated 14th September 1944 series A number 055228 in deep purple on brown and pale blue underprint featuring a portrait of a Woman wearing a National costume hat at left and The Slovene Home Guard Coat of Arms represented by a Crowned eagle with a checkered crescent on its chest. The Slovene Home Guard was an anti-Partisan military organization that was active during the 1943-1945 German occupation of the formerly Italian-occupied Province of Ljubliana. It consisted of former Village Sentries part of Italian-sponsored Anti-Communist Volunteer Militia re-organized under Nazi command after the Italian Armistice 3rd September 1943. Combined with other 2 "Home Guard" units they were formed exclusively of ethnic Slovenes which at their peak had a combined membership of around 21000 men, 15000 of which were in the Ljubliana Province. Along with Herm Island Trade Coupon for £1 made out to a Mr or Mrs Harding valid from 31st May 1957 to 7th June 1957 and a red Coat of Arms of Herm stamp for 6 pence is affixed at centre right with an oval embossed stamp over it and this discount trade coupon was issued to tourists for use at several establishments on the island. The coupon in black on green underprint with the Coat of Arms at centre left on obverse and the reverse depicting different illustrations of the island such as the inside of St. Tugual's chapel, Holidays (Women in bathing suits on beach), Agriclture (Cows in field) and Industry (Pottery shop with Master potter at work). Herm Island is located east of Guernsey. It is the smallest of the Channel Islands that is open to the public
