Afghanistan Medal, Second Afghan War, in silver, with 2 clasps, Kandahar and Ahmed Khel, awarded to 1828 Cpl. J. Denton 2/60th Foot, GVF, the obverse with some light scratches in the fields, comes with copied papers of Depot Battalions Pay List, Statements of Pay and Allowances of Recruits, and a list of Men of the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles who have died, been killed, made Prisoners of War or deserted. This lists the death of Joseph Denton, who had been promoted to Lance Sergeant on 22nd Feb 1881, and is listed as having died on 20th April 1881, at Newcastle (Natal) soon after peace was signed. Also comes with typed history of his Military career in India, Afghanistan and South Africa.
Queen's South Africa Medal, 3rd type reverse, with 4 clasps, Elandslaagte, Orange Free State, Transvaal and Laing's Nek, awarded to 287 Tpr: H. Cullingworth, Natal M.R. EF with some hairlines, comes with copy of entitlement to the medal and a copied account of a demonstration against an enemy-held hill on the Modder Spruit side of Ladysmith known as Tinta 'Nyoni. The force, led by General White consisted of 5th Lancers, 19th Hussars, I.L.H, Natal M.R., 42nd and 53rd Batteries R.G.A., 1st LiverpoolRegiment, 1st Devons, 1st Gloucestershires and 2nd Kings Royal Rifles, a total of 5300 officers and men. The Force proceed along the Newcastle Road for about 6 miles, when they came under fire from their left at 0700 hrs. Their action was prompt and at 0800 a discharge of musketry rose and fell among the extended line of troopers, as the infantry had come up to Rietfontein. The British were soon shelling the enemy opposition, and one extremely accurate shell burst full upon one of the Boer pieces. The Natal Mounted Rifles. were ordered by Sir George White across from his right and sent in front of his left flank. The colonial riflemen used all of their skills to remove all of the danger and the object accomplished, 114 casualties were suffered. No Natal M.R were killed, and only three wounded including Trooper H. Cullingworth.

Both Bright VF with some deeper hairlines causing light depressions in the fields, both medals accompanied by copies of extracts from the respective medal rolls to the 10th Royal Hussars confirming the entitlement to the clasps.
YorkshireImperial Yeomanry Medal 1901-1902, type 2 reverse, awarded to 32423 Pte. J.Robinson EF and lustrous with two gentle edge bruises, Pte. Robinson joined the regiment 7/5/1901and was invalided home on 24/3/1902.He was discharged medically unfit on 15/5/1902, and it also entitled to a 5 clasp Queen's South Africa medal. The type 2 Yorkshire Imperial Yeomanry medal was awarded by members of the 109th Yorkshire Hussars Company and the 111th Yorkshire Dragoons Company. It is estimated that 700 medals of this type were produced.

World War II a group of five , War Medal, Africa Star, 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, and Africa Service Medal awarded to 8068 Bombr.J.H.Duncan, South African Artillery, EF. Bombr. Duncan enlisted 10/10/1940, was sent to Egypt with PretoriaRegiment in April 1943, to 22nd Field Regiment, May 1943, to Italy in May 1944, and hospitalised, cause unknown, May 1944, and evacuated to South Africa . He was discharged on 2/1/1947., along with World War I to Welsh Regiments (4) 1914-15 Star awarded to 19532 Pte.W.Roberts 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers. EF. Pte.Roberts was killed in action in France 3/9/1916 and is buried at Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 4A, World War I Medals (3) the first awarded to 11085 Pte.G.Jones, South Wales Borderers, NEF. Pte.Jones died of wounds in Alexandria, Egypt, 5/7/1915 after evacuation from Gallopoli, and is buried at Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetary L.10. the second awarded to 8717 Pte.D.J.Evans, 2nd Welsh Regiment NEF, Pte.Evans was killed in action 4/5/1915 and is buried at Le Toueret Memorial Panels 23 and 24. the third to 9348 Pte.C.Lewis 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers.GVF. He died of heart failure in Calais, France on 9/12/1914, and is buried at Ploegdteert Memorial Panel 5. (All were entitled to the 1914 star and Mons clasp)

The left shield is quartered with: Star of India, Kangaroo – Australia, Scale balance – New Zealand and Beaver – Canada. The right shield has the BritishRoyal coat of arms. To the left is a garland with a rose (England), shamrocks (Ireland) and thistles (Scotland). To the right is a laurel branch. Above is the Imperial Crown. Two clasped hands across the divide between the shields at the bottom. On a ribbon below: “WE . SERVE . UNDER . ONE . CROWN”. Above the ribbon, and below the hands, stamped: “REGISTERED”. Legend in ornate lettering above: “UNITED IN THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM” and below between stops: “WE DEFEND OUR EMPIRE”. Reverse:- To the left, a sailor with rifle at attention; to the right, a soldier with rifle at the ready. They stand guard over the British Union flag, between them on a flagpole surmounted by a crown.
