Holmes and the other cut-cancelled (Outing 305b, Grant 468K), an Exceptionally Rare example in VF or about minor wear holes in design and expected for a note over 2 centuries old. The note uniface displaying a vignette of Bristol city Coat of Arms at centre left with text Corn Street beneath, G. Johnson fc. Bristol imprint and an embossed Revenue stamp at lower centre. Printed on watermarked paper with faintly visible partnership in an enframed design. A unique opportunity to acquire this seldom seen note with the last date before the Birch name was removed completely from partnership
Five Pounds PeppiattWhite note B241b BRISTOL branch issue dated 1st April 1935 serial number T/179 44540, a presentable and well-preserved VF with a minor inked signature at lower right reverse and an Exceptionally Rare note . In fact we have only offered 1 example in December 2019 in good Fine again with a small inked annotation that realised £2000. Also historically this is an example of the last ever branch issued notes as at the outbreak of World War II all branches ceased issuing notes. Issuing became centralized in the main office in London and the branches only served as distribution centres.
