The head shows a different form to the curls at the back of the head, also the front tip of the truncation extends further down to a point between the two colon dots after F:D: Fine with signs of tooling on the obverse, one of the classic and most unusual varieties in the English Milled Gold series. Rated R5 by Marsh and excessively rare (estimated 9-14 examples known).

There are thought to be less than 10 specimens in existence of the striking variety, the Bentley example graded as GVF realised £12,000 hammer
