Penny 1881 Freeman 103 dies 9+M, Gouby BP1881Ga (dies M+p) Ex-Michael Freeman collection, with his ticket, Christie's 23/10/1984 Lot 65 (part), Fair, misty in parts including around the date area, listed in the Christie's catalogue as 'perhaps with H, extremely rare' hence the listing in the 1985 Freeman book 'with H below date (?)', rated at R19 by Freeman, with only one other example previously seen by this cataloguer, extremely rare and believed to be one of only three or four known examples, we note there were no examples in the Laurie Bamford, Copthorne, Alderly or James Workman collections, probably rarer than the 1877 Narrow date coin, of which an LCGS Fine 20 example realised £7020 in our June 2010 auction

Penny 1797 Copper ProofPeck 1123 KP17 11 Leaves in wreath Near FDC and with a superb blue tone, a stunning piece, not represented in the Alderly Collection and superior to the example in the Colin Adams Collection
Penny 1806 Copper ProofPeck 1324 KP30 Near FDC and superb, retaining some lustre and with much eye appeal, superior to the Alderly and Colin Adams examples
Penny 1806 Bronzed ProofPeck 1326 KP31 nFDC and nicely toned with a hint of lustre in the legends, superior to the example in the Colin Adams collection and more attractive than the Alderly specimen
Penny 1797 Bronzed ProofPeck 1109 KP14 10 Leaves and 2 Berries, Large Letters on Reverse FDC with caramel toning, and some slight tone lines on the reverse. We note there was no example in the Colin Adams collection or the Alderly Collection, now believed to be rarer than catalogued by Peck
Penny 1797 Bronzed ProofPeck 1125 KP18 10 Leaves, 6 incuse gun ports on ship. Three raised dots on the rock. Described as rare by Peck, seldom seen in this grade. We note that there was no example in the Colin Adams collection, and in addition, this is superior to the example in the Alderly collection, nFDC with full frosting, some small tone spots in the fields barely detract
