The note in brown and light brown and slate blue underprint with the obverse featuring the Bank's Coat of Arms at upper centre flanked by value in wording in black panels and with medallion below and the Royal Arms of Scotland with thistle motif in left panel with Great Britain Royal Coat of Arms below. The reverse in dark brown displaying the Bank's shield at centre with helmet and cornucopia above and flanked by 2 circular panels - Bank's Coat of Arms in the left and a sailing ship emblem at right, along with denomination in wording in panels at each corner.
