National Commercial Limited First issues (2) a very attractive pair both dated 16th September 1959 and signature D. Alexander comprising Pick 266 (BY SC611; PMS NC2; 2-1;) very last prefix for this type G 110517, presentable VF with a very minor 2mm marginal tear to lower right margin. Along with Pick 267 (PMS NC4; BY SC631; Douglas 3a-1) serial number A207793, Fine - VF with a 7mm uneven tear to right margin slightly extending to design but not affecting the note's general appearance and a Scarce short-lived issue with only 350.000 examples on record. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Limited and watermarked with Sir Alexander of Press , it had every note featuring an illustration of Forth Railway bridge until the final issue had a ship negotiating the wrong chl under the bridge, only corrected on the final £1 issue.
