An exquisite and very alluring Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. print in blue on multicolour underprint featuring a young crowned portrait of H.M. the Queen at right and a map scroll at lower left on obverse. The reverse displaying 4 Coat of Arms/Seals of member States - Leeward Islands, British Guiana, Windward Islands, Trinidad & Tobago and Barbados. Watermarked H.M. the Queen bust facing right. A very fresh and crisp about UNC or near so with very Minor marginal stain at upper right but this not affecting this Extraordinarily Rare note's appearance. 01/09/2019 Auction 166	World Banknotes	Lot 335	Jersey Treasury of the States ERROR 1 Pound Pick 8c (similar to BY JE11a) serial number B 098701 MISSING signature destined to be F.N. Padgham with the tile Treasurer of the States. The note in green on a multi-coloured underprint featuring a young portrait of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II at right on obverse and the reverse illustrating the view of Mont Orgueil Castle ('Mount Pride' or 'Haughty Mount') also known as Gorey Castle by English speakers which construction was undertaken following the division of Duchy of Normandy in 1204 and it was first mentioned in 1212. The castle was the primary defence of Jersey until the development of gunpowder which then rendered the castle ultimately indefensible from Mont Saint Nicholas, the adjacent hill which overlooks the castle. Printed by Thomas de La Rue & Company, London inscribed in small script at lower centre margin on reverse and watermarked with a Cow's head.
