GermanyReichsbanknote 50 Mark "The Egg Note" ("Eierschein" as known by German collectors) Pick 65 dated 30th November 1918 series H1580 054669 variety with "?" at left of serial number, about UNC - UNC and interestingly printed with design shifted to far right possible error in printing. Olive-brown on grey underprint and given the name of the Egg note due to its large egg-shaped white area at centre and very collectible
World - a Journey in Currency (206) an alluring and very colourful selection, mostly fresh and crisp UNC and mainly modern notes late 1900's to 2017, but including a few earlier examples, from various countries and issuers in 5 archival albums. Generally sorted alphabetically by country and includes complete or near complete denomination sets of the same issue, some of which Polymer examples and a Fantasy issue, with few even having their last few digits of the serial numbers matching. Also, the earlier notes as the very attractive high-grade example of the Yugoslavia, Kingdom 1000 Dinara Pick 29 dated Belgrade, 1st December 1931 series ?.0840 752 209797752. GermanyReichsbanknote example along with an exotic Notgeld 50 Pfennig Bayreuth 22nd October 1918, a town famous for its opera. Exotic issues from Saint Thomas and Prince, Madagascar, Russia, Oceania, Mauritius and many others. The Fantasy notes, a captivating set of the 2017 Private issue PortugueseAfrica, Brazil, India and Azores - Polymer denomination set by the French graphic artist Mr Frank Medina.

Belgium World War I Emergency "Necessity Money" Notgeld & Private issues (150) a collection in an album in mixed mostly very high grades to UNC comprising 5 Centimes to 100 Francs from a variety of issuers as Aubel, Ville de Verviers, Ville de Leuze, Ville de Huy, Willebroeck, Eename, Sint Blasisus-Boekle, Commune de Bilstain, Commune de Hodimont, Commune d'Ensival, Antwerpen, Nederbrakel, Ville de Binche, Ville de Namur, Dendermonde, Comite Local de Chatelineau, Ooestende, Mechelen, Kortruk, Grand Bazar de ka Okace Sint Lambert, Norderwijck and others. Some cut canceled, some puncholed "PAYE" and a few retaining the counterfoil. Also includes a propaganda note 1000 Francs. GermanyReichsbanknote (2) including 20 Francs and 50 Francs both stamped "Centre de Rassemblement" Pick 181 and Pick 182 for type. Andre Dumont Watrschei 20 Francs with counterfoil and stamped "Annule" dated 17th May 1940. During the German occupation of Belgium during World War I there was a shortage of official coins and banknotes in circulation and as a result around 600 communes, local governments and companies issued their own unofficial currency to enable the continued functioning of the local ecnomies. The National Bank of Belgium's museum digitized it's collection which is available online. The lot is accompanied by a catalogue of these notes by Jean-Rene De Mey titled "Repertoire des Billets de Necessite Communaux Et Prives Bleges (1914 - 1919)" issued 1991
