World Banknotes (6) a very interesting selection in various grades ranging from Fine - VF to about UNC - UNC including examples from transition between the Bank's Coat of Arms and the Sir portrait issues from The Linen Bank (5) comprising 1 s signature Walker but different designs (2) consisting of the Pick 166c (BY SC208b; PMS BL71b) dated 25th January 1966 serial number O/4 159082 and the Second Thomas issue Pick 169a (BY SC210; PMS BL75) prefix B/5 dated 5th November 1969. (2) including Pick 161b (BY SC214c; PMS BL67e) dated 18th October 1957 series O/11 014837 signature Anderson and the Second Thomas De La Rue Issue Pick 167b (BY SC216b; PMS BL76b) signature Walker prefix H/12 dated 17th July 1964. And the large sized 'Horse Blanket' note Pick 164 (BY SC236; PMS BL73) signature A.P. Anderson a very first prefix and date for this type dated 14th February 1962 series G/5 09/319. The lot also includes an example of The 5 Pounds Pick 323c (BY SC807c; PMS RB58d) dated 1st April 1955 signatures Ballantyne & Campbell series G 10575/4872, uniface blue on yellow. A very collectible group with the examples bearing historical significance caused by the ground-brea decision of the Bank to transition between designs for their final issues before being acquired by the Bank of Scotland
