The National Limited Eight last issue 5 s Pick 262a (PMS NA68, BY SC513) dated 1st November 1957 serial number A852-062 signatures Alexander S O Dandie titled ier & David Alexander titled General Manager. The note in green and multicolour with the obverse displaying the Bank's Coat of Arms at lower left with plants above and the reverse features an illustration of the Forth Railway bridge near Edinburgh - considered as a symbol of Scotland and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a note from the very last and very short-lived issue for the bank as the merger between the National and Commercial banks took place in 1959 resulting in all outstanding notes being withdrawn therefore it makes it scarce and seldom seen especially in this high grade. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Limited, London imprinted in small script at lower right on obverse and reverse and watermarked with a portrait of Sir Alexander - the Bank's first Chairman. EF - GEF
