Made by the Nagai Medal Company VF with pin on reverse, along with a further group of Japanese Fire Brigade Badges (5) includes merit and Long Service badges, mostly 1930s issues one with red enamelling, another with green enamelling, these in the wooden boxes of issue, Japan Order of the Rising Sun 7th Class in silver with both sides enamelled, with ribbon, hook and eye, EF boxed, Order of the Rising Sun 8th Class in silver (3) NEF to EF boxed, The order is awarded to those who have made distinguished achievements in the following fields: international relations, promotion of Japanese culture, advancements in their field, development in welfare or preservation of the environment. Prior to the end of the Second World War, it was also awarded for exemplary military service.
