09/06/2009 Auction 126	World Coins	Lot 446	USA Dollar 1799 with Octagonal Countermark S.3766B. The countermark is finely executed and has a more hauteur profile than is usually encountered, possibly from being a slightly later unofficial striking (the Maundy penny die not used on this coin is considered the die officially used). Notwithstanding it still remains an extremely rare example with only about 3 examples known. Some Obverse tooling is evident otherwise the host coin is toned about VF with the countermark somewhat better -- comes with an enlarged photograph of the countermark More coins like this	£2,800
