Shilling 1721 1 over 0 Roses and Plumes, ESC 1172, Bull 1578, the overstrike very clear and bold, GVF with a small edge bruise by M. BR., some weakness below the 17 of the date and in the corresponding position on the obverse, minor adjustment lines on the bust, overall a pleasing grade example of this rare type. Our archive database reveals only 6 examples offered in 20 years and none since 2015
Shilling 1721 21 over 18 with Roses and Plumes in the wrong angles, ESC 1171A, Bull 1580, VG, the reverse better, rated R4 by Bull (11-20 examples believed to exist), our archive database stretching back to 2003 shows that this is only the second example we have offered
Shilling 1721 Roses and Plumes, 7 Harp strings, ESC 1171, Bull 1577 VG/Near Fine, with an edge nick, Rare, our auction archive stretching back to 2003 reveals that we have only previously offered two examples, both with 8 strings to the harp, Bull states that this unaltered date type is found only with 8 Harp strings, so this is the first 7 Strings/unaltered date combination we have offered, Rated only R by Bull but probably rarer than the catalogue would suggest given the number of examples seen in the last 18 years
Shilling 1721 Roses and PlumesESC 1171, Bull 1577 (8 strings to Harp) EF the obverse with some haymarking, our records indicate this is the first we have offered since 2003, whereas we have offered all the various overdates for this year, so probably rarer than the 'R' rating given by ESC, Cataloguer's Note, there is evidence of doubling to the 21 in the date but is quite different to examples of the published overdates we have studied, also Bull states the overdates have 7 or 9 harp strings and the Plain date coin has 8 harp strings, graded 65 by LCGS
