Half PoundElizabeth I Obverse: Young crowned bust with beaded inner circles, Reverse: Crown Royal shield, Beaded inner circle, S.2520, mintmark Cross crosslet, 4.72 grammes, Fine, struck on a wavy flan with two heavier digs in the obverse field
AngelElizabeth I First type with wire line inner circles S.2513 mintmark Lis, 5.21 grammes, EF struck on a slightly irregularly shaped flan as often encountered, a few minor contact marks and an edge nick by the B of HIB otherwise practically 'as struck' with very little real wear, compares favourably with the Spink plate coin. The First issue with wire line inner circles type a rare and desirable type and seldom offered in any grade. Catalogues at £7500 VF in Spink this considerably superior to VF
ThreehalfpenceElizabeth I 1573 S.2569 mintmark Acorn NVF with a flan imperfection on the reverse, comes with an old ticket stating 'Seaby 28/4/1959 £2/2/-'
Pound Elizabeth I sixth issue S.2534, N 2008 (North 3rd issue), but with Lion at the end of the legend as Schneider 797, die axis alignment 100 degrees, weight 10.98 grammes, this Tun and Lion variety was the first type of Pound struck between June 1593 and May 1594 and it is believed that only 12 specimens exist, the obverse Good Fine, with some weakness to the back of the head, the reverse extremely well struck, on a full round flan and very desirable. We note a Prooflike GEF/UNC example sold in our June 2015 auction and realised £28,000 hammer price, this piece is Ex LCA 153 Lot 1968 when it realised £10,000 hammer price
SixpenceElizabeth I 1567 S.2562 mintmark Lion, we note all other examples except one that we have handled of this date have been mintmark Coronet, VF or better, and superior to the example sold in Auction A153 (that example was Ex-Lingford and Ex-Shuttlewood) which realised £234
We note a Prooflike GEF/UNC example sold in our June 2015 auction and realised £28,000 hammer price
PoundElizabeth I Seventh Issue S.2539 mintmark 1 (1601) VF and pleasing and a rare date in this high grade, a suggestion of double striking at the base of the bust hardly detracts from this desirable piece, Ex Seaby Bulletin May 1964 plate 24 coin G1003
Half PoundElizabeth I Milled Coinage S.2543 mintmark Lis Obverse NEF and beautifully sharp, reverse GVF with hints of red toning, extremely rare and only the third we have offered in 12 years
PoundElizabeth I sixth issue S.2534, N 2008 (North 3rd issue), but with Lion at the end of the legend Schneider 797 choice GEF/UNC the reverse almost prooflike sharp and crisply struck all round, this coin is so pleasing it has the quality of a milled rather than a hammered coin perhaps the best hammered coin we have seen, in addition an extremely rare variety. This Tun and Lion variety was the first type of Pound struck between June 1593 and May 1594 and it is believed that only 12 specimens exist, the fact that this is the initial issue of this Pound type perhaps explains the care that has clearly gone into the striking
PoundElizabeth IS.2534, North 2008, Schneider 801 mintmark Key over Woolpack (to left of crown) obverse and Key over Woolpack reverse, approaching EF with a small weaker area on the shield, the portrait excellent a most attractive example with much eye appeal, Ex-D.F.Alder Collection, Ex-Spink Numismatic circular LXVIII/5 May 1960 (No.5241)

PoundElizabeth I Sixth Issue S.2534North 2008, mintmark Woolpack, Standard stops on obverse, annulet stops on reverse, die axis alignment 110 degrees, weight 10.86 grammes, this type unlisted by Schneider, portrait VG, Reverse Fine, all legends bold and clear, Rare
PoundElizabeth I sixth issue S.2534, N 2008 (North 3rd issue), Schneider 799, mintmark Woolpack annulet stops on reverse and pellets stops on obverse strong VF the portrait with particularly good detail woolpack mint mark both sides and on the obverse to the left of the crown some unevenness of the fields to the right of the portrait hardly detracts from this pleasing example
HalfcrownElizabeth I mint mark 1 (1601) S.2583 VF even tone with no significant detractions scarce thus, (EX LCA 124 Lot 1871 march 2009 realised £2,000)
Half PoundElizabeth I Milled Coinage S.2543North 2019/3 Mintmark Star BNJ 1983 Obv 3, Rev 1, this coin noted, Ex-Tom May Collection, Spink Nobles Sydney 17-19 April 2012, Ex-N.C.Jany 1974 (198) and Seaby Coin and Medal Bulletin June 1981 (EG52), Borden and Brown noted 8 specimens from these dies and a total of just 45 known from all dies, the flan with light creasing with a die cud on the reverse at 10 o'clock, GVF/NEF

ThreehalfpenceElizabeth I Third Issue 1561 with Rose behind bust Large Flan with 12.5mm diameter inner circle mintmark Pheon S.2568North 2000, weight 0.7 grammes, Fine/Good Fine (bought S.Burkenshaw 1985 £28)
PennyElizabeth I Sixth Issue without rose or date S.2580 Obverse SPINE for SPINA mintmark A, weight 0.4 grammes, Fine or near so on a slightly ragged flan (bought S.Burkinshaw 1985 £10)
Half PoundElizabeth I Broad Bust with ear visible mm Coronet S.2520B better than Fine with some old thin scratches obverse some on the portrait, bright and possibly once in jewellery as there is a tiny rim nick above the I in REGINA although this would have been a strange place to mount the coin, probably needs viewing before buying
CrownElizabeth I mint mark 1 bold VF drapery particularly sharp, some stress lines as often, the reverse has a small TB stamped in the fourth angle which does not encroach noticeably on the design in the style of Tudor letters so presumed contemporary, this slight distraction is more than compensated by the price estimate without these marks this would very likely be a £4,000-£6,000 item
CrownElizabeth IS.2582 mint mark 1 near EF with the Queen's drapery particularly sharp, bold and even all round with an even tone a few small surface marks obverse hardly detract, not far short in overall appeal to Lot 608 in our December 2006 sale (Auction 115) which realised £11,000 hammer price, rare and desirable thus
Half PoundElizabeth IS.2520 Young Bust with beaded inner circles, Mintmark Cross Crosslet Bright About Fine/Fine with a solder mark at the top of the obverse suggesting having been mounted
