USA One Trillion Dollars 2013 TrialPattern in platinum plated copper, 27.91 grammes, Prooflike UNC. Originally produced in 2013 by the American Mint. A US website stated in 2013 'Financial bloggers in the US floated the notion of a Trillion Dollar coin to address the nation's debt problems. A technicality in US law says it's Treasury has special discretion to create platinum coins of any denomination. The US Secretary of the Treasury could then deposit the coin in it's bank account via the Federal Reserve, then afterwards, it could sell bonds to raise money to pay down the debt
