World (10) an interesting and very collectible group of notes in various grades mostly GVF - EF to about UNC - UNC and comprising a Scarce Russian Civil War East Siberia -Chita 100 Rubley "Sparrows" Gosudarstvenniy Bank (State Bank) - Chita branch Pick S1187b 1920 Ataman Semenov's money issued by the Government of the Russian Eastern Border Regions, variety with cubes in frame on reverse. These notes were called Sparrows due to their grey paper and were printed later in blue reason being, whatever ink was available that is what was used to print. The fate of the “sparrows” was a foregone conclusion: even when released, their cost was 2 times lower than that of Kolchak’s “Siberian squirrels”. And by the end of 1920, their value was striving for zero. Also, a very attractive and very well-preserved selection of USA Obsolete Currency of various issuers and denominations (5) comprising a Bank of New-England at Goodspeed's Landing East Haddam, Connecticut2 Dollars unissued remainder circa 1800's. The Bank of Macomb County, Mt. Clements, State of Michigan10 Dollars Unissued Remainder dated 1st April 1858. The Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Company 20 Dollars 9th November 1840 No. 372B. The Canal Bank New Orleans 20 dollars series D Unissued remainder circa 1800's. And The State of Georgia, Milledgeville 100 Dollars dated 1st February 1863 series A No. 11384 with 2 manuscript signatures and a black Treasury of Georgia seal on reverse dated 1864, a nice and even original cut. Also known as a C-note with a portrait of war time Governor Joe Brown, who contemplated the idea of Georgia succeeding from the Confederacy. The lot also includes an Italy Biglietto Di Stato 1 LiraPick 29c signatures Di Cristina, Cavallaro & Parisi. Egypt 5 Pounds 63c from 2009. And a pair of Disney Dollars r series D of 2009 (2) including 1 Dollar Mickey Celebrate and 5 Dollars Daisy Duck & Minnie Mouse.
World around 47 notes mostly Russia high grade Empire issues early 1900's includes Ukraine & Crimea - Odessa 1917 Exchange Notes 25 Rubles Pick S337 and 3 Rubles Pick S334. SOUTH RUSSIA - High Command of the Armed Forces 10000 Rubles 1919 Pick S425a (2). Along with USAConfederate State issues some of which imitations and Bank Cheques. Prisoners of War 10 Francs stamped "Prisoner of war camp No.225". Germany 1923 Bielefeld SILK NOTGELD 500 Mark. Bank of EnglandOne Pounds Somerset (2) prefix DS83 and DS72. And Chine 1920s Confucius 'Strings of Cash' Red and black Confucius in red at top seal on reverse measueres around 25.7 cm in height and 6.9 cm in width.
