Hadfield was acquitted of treason for reasons of insanity leading to major additions to in British statutory law namely Criminal Lunatics Act 1800 and Treason Act 1800 which resulted in Hadfield being detained till he died in 1841 in Bedlam.

Franco-British Exhibition medal 1908 51mm diameter in 9 carat gold, by F. Cataloguers note: The exhibition was held on a newly-prepared site at White City, West London. Others to be held there and for which medals were awarded, include the Japan-British Exhibition in 1910, and the Anglo-American Exhibition in 1914. James Campbell Brown was born in Aberdeen. His father George Brown worked as a chemical manufacturer in London at Bow Common Alum Works. Brown was educated at the Old Aberdeen Gymnasium under Dr. Alexander Anderson, then at the Marischal College. In 1863 he joined the Royal College of Chemistry, London. He graduated with a BSc in 1867 and received a University scholarship leading to a doctorate in 1870. He taught Chemistry at Aberdeen and then went on to lecture at the Liverpool Royal Infirmary School of Medicine. He also taught at the School of Medicine in Liverpool. Campbell was involved in the creation of the University of Liverpool. He was also involved in water quality studies for the City of Liverpool Water Works. As a specialist also on forensic chemistry he was often called as an expert in court cases. He died in 1910, and after his death his book 'History of Chemistry From The Earliest Times' was published.

Death of Daniel Solander, Swedish botanist undated (1782) 37mm diameter in silver by G.Ljungberger, Obverse: bust right DANIEL SOLANDER with a flowering solandra with it's stem cut. Solander first accompanied Joseph Banks on James Cook's voyage around the world. He also went with Banks to Iceland in 1772. In 1773 he became keeper of the Natural History department in the British Museum. The medal was struck at the Swedish Royal Mint in 1783 and dedicated to Joseph Banks by Klas and Johann Alstrӧmer. Comes with photocopy of the medal roll showing entitlement to the medal and clasp.
Ghuznee Medal, 1839, unnamed as issued, EF with some hairlines. This medal was only the second medal awarded for a particular campaign (after Waterloo) and was granted to both British and Indian troops who took part in the assault on Ghuznee in 1839 which brought the First Afghan War to a close. It was issued unnamed by the Honourable East India Company.
Queen's South Africa Medal, 3rd type reverse, with 4 clasps, Elandslaagte, Orange Free State, Transvaal and Laing's Nek, awarded to 287 Tpr: H. Cullingworth, Natal M.R. EF with some hairlines, comes with copy of entitlement to the medal and a copied account of a demonstration against an enemy-held hill on the Modder Spruit side of Ladysmith known as Tinta 'Nyoni. The force, led by General White consisted of 5th Lancers, 19th Hussars, I.L.H, Natal M.R., 42nd and 53rd Batteries R.G.A., 1st LiverpoolRegiment, 1st Devons, 1st Gloucestershires and 2nd Kings Royal Rifles, a total of 5300 officers and men. The Force proceed along the Newcastle Road for about 6 miles, when they came under fire from their left at 0700 hrs. Their action was prompt and at 0800 a discharge of musketry rose and fell among the extended line of troopers, as the infantry had come up to Rietfontein. The British were soon shelling the enemy opposition, and one extremely accurate shell burst full upon one of the Boer pieces. The Natal Mounted Rifles. were ordered by Sir George White across from his right and sent in front of his left flank. The colonial riflemen used all of their skills to remove all of the danger and the object accomplished, 114 casualties were suffered. No Natal M.R were killed, and only three wounded including Trooper H. Cullingworth.

CanadaGeneral Service Medal with Fenian Raid 1866 clasp, awarded to Pte. C. McDoff, Varennes I Co. (appears renamed) NEF with some contact marks and small scratches. This medal was only awarded 30 years after the event, and was issued by the Canadian Government to British and Canadian local forces who took partin operations to put down the Fenian raids of 1866 and 1870, and the Red River rebellion of the latter year.
World War I group of four, awarded to 795 Dvr. Robert Dean R.A. comprising Mercantile Marine Medal GVF, Territorial Force War Medal EF, British War Medal 1914-1918 NEF, and Victory Medal , along with silver War Badge, Royal Artillery cap badge and ImperialService badge. Come with photocopied Medal Roll for the War Badge to a Robert Dean, with an accompanying letter stating there were two Merchant Seamen of this name
World War I Trio awarded to 11958 Pte. J.Jubb E.York. R., 1914-15 Star, 1914-1918 British War Medal and Victory Medal, EF, the star with some surface residue, along with Death Plaque EF in original card envelope, cap badge, and printout from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website with full details. Pte. Jubb was killed in action at Thiepval on 8th February 1917 Age 27. He is buried at Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France

St.Jean d'Acre Medal, Syria Campaign 1840, unnamed, 30mm diameter in bronzed copper, VF with some double striking to the reverse. This medal was awarded to petty officers, NCO's and other ranks, and was awarded by the Sultan of Turkey to British, Austrian and Turkish Forces under Sir Charles Napier, taking part in the liberation of this important city on the Syrian Coast after 8 years of Egyptian occupation. The medal has a plain ring suspension.
