BHM lists only the bronze medal, with a footnote: 'In a note of the Private medals Struck by the engravers of the Mint' in the public record (P.R.O. MINT 3/25) it is recorded that on 24 July 1844, Wyon was authorised to strike 15 medals 'for the Emperor of Russia'. Presumably this is the piece referred to in this memo. A further 12 were struck on 13 September 1845 and two more struck on 7 October 1846. We note that the silver medal is listed at £1500 in VF and £2700 in EF by Eimer £1,500 - £2,000
